   The Primate Research Laboratory (PRL) houses bonnet monkeys (Macaca radiata), endemic to South India. The PRL provides facilities and assist investigators  of the Institute and other Institutions  to undertake  research using non-human primates. Primate biology research includes, reproductive-developmental biology, fertility studies, vaccine development and behavioural studies. Experimental animals are appropriately housed in spacious cages or outdoor-run areas. The PRL has a modern surgical theatre, laparoscope, ECG, Ultrasound scanning machine and X-ray unit, Gamma and Beta scintillation counters.
